Thanks for a very insightful post. When doing the 3 column exercise it’s also important to list the things you’re good at even if they seem ‘ordinary’. We sometimes don’t give ourselves credit and assume that everybody knows what we know when in fact, the expertise you’ve gained could be invaluable to someone else.

it was a good post, and great idea. Oftentimes people get where they are not by knowing how to do everything, but by knowing where to find the answers to the things they don’t. You started with a great example and opportunity. The buildup was good, but then it transitioned to something that was completely irrelevant to what drew me in.

Interesting article, and I like your advice on writing things down when you start to get stuck. I’m not sure I would do it in exactly the same way, because I’m more the type that writes prose rather than makes lists when it comes to analyzing problems. Still, writing to come up with new ideas is a great way to get out of a rut.

I agree, Its always a learning experience when you ask someone else for help. Remember, everyone has different experiences and from these they gain a different view then one that you might have. Take advantage of this and you will learn more then you ever could if you tried to do it all alone!
