Did You Hear That?

Yesterday I asked a woman if she knew the weather report, because I’d heard it was going to get colder over the next few days.

Hilda answered she learned from her husband not to comment on things she hasn’t heard herself.

Wow, I thought. What an answer. And she gets points for crediting her husband.

The idea of giving advice on things you’ve got no firsthand experience with is something James Brausch recently wrote about.

If you read his post… I too noticed how James doesn’t follow the herd and doesn’t use keyword rich permalinks. And I concluded James does this for a reason: he’s either tested this or he has data from his ranking software backing up shorter URLs will perform better.
