Google Analytics Tutorial

February 20th, 2008 by Administrator

Hi!

The product I’m releasing today is designed to help you turn more clicks into profit using Google Analytics.

How many people do you know who put up a Web site or blog with the best intentions and didn’t have the foggiest idea where they were going with their journey online?

Compare these people to others who plan their journey carefully, except this one involves driving cross-country.

These people get maps and program their odometer and trip calculators. Where the wishful Web site owners leave their fate to chance, the trip planners put systems in place to help them reach their destination.

So when the hopeful Web site or blog owner finally announces her site to the world and hopes for the best, our trip planner knows whether she’s got 1000 miles, 500 miles or 50 more to go, so she can decide whether she has time to stop for lunch and to stretch her legs rather than eating on the run.

And it gets better…

Our Web site owner, flustered by a lack of results, even though she had no clear expectation of having any, tries her hand at a few different online tactics.

But again, sadly, she has no processes and systems to make it easy and automatic for her to measure the effectiveness of any of her efforts.

And so our Web site owner, who practically is driving without a compass, wastes more time and energy. And while she had a hazy idea of making money, she’s now embarassed at the thought of how much money she’s burned through unaccounted for.

On the other hand, our planning driver stopped for lunch and a latte thanks to her on-board GPS. This handly little tracking device not only signaled to her when she was lost, but even helped her get back on track.

Which one of these two groups of people are you most like when it comes to your Internet business?

Are you as clear as a client of mine who said she wanted to grow her to 5,000 subscribers in less than 6 months? Or even like the client who told me that if he could get 3 out of every 100 visitors to his Web site to sign up for his trial offer he would make a very good living?

In your case, perhaps you want to hit a certain number of sales a month, like maybe 25 orders a month. Or maybe you imagine your Internet business generating a specific amount of money each month, like by putting an extra $500 in your pocket month.

Or are you more like the confused Web site owner? You didn’t hesitate to get your Web site going, but now you don’t feel like you’re going anywhere really and the future looks dim.

Guess what? It isn’t a trick question…

Let me say this loud and clear, whether the hopeful Web site owner describes you best or whether you see your desired outcome online as clear as crystal, you can benefit from a system that helps you measure and track your results.

The most basic system I’m talking about should at least give you an indication of how close you are getting to your goals.

That system is Google Analytics, which I describe in my DVD called Google Analytics Tutorial Vol. 1.

Personally, I would rather not embark on a project online unless there is profit potential beyond a shadow of a doubt. And even in those cases where I’m willing to take more risk, I do my best to have systems in place to measure that risk and to help me figure out if it’s still worth it.

Google Analytics does this.
