Want More In-Bound Links? Have a Process.

March 1st, 2007 by Administrator

Study how successful online marketers skyrocket the number of in-bound links, and you’ll see a few patterns.

The first thing you’ll notice is they generally pick and execute 1 strategy or tactic, and they do it well.

I can almost hear you… I know… trying a bunch of different techniques is irresistible. But you know as well as I do, the truth is, trying to do a bit of all of them is a recipe for failure.

One technique Rich Schefren used very effectively since launching his company is to create content as link-bait.

Another technique is to give stuff away. Well, you don’t charge for it, but there’s reciprocation involved. James Brausch gets a lot of traction with this strategy. And he’s got it down to a science… I mean “process.” James sponsored a reader on a cruise, gives away books he’s read, and now he’s finding a new home for his DVD recorder.

James–If you read this, I know you have a greater purpose in mind than simply growing your links :)

Take notes, pick a strategy, create a process, and execute. Then repeat for another tactic.
