Often an owner is to an Internet business like a parent is to a child.

Let your mind rest on this for a minute…

Even if you’re not a parent in the strict sense, there are several important lessons.

As the days, months and weeks pass, it’s often easy for parents not to realize how much their kids are growing, changing, maturing, and blossoming. And sometimes, before they know it, their kids are out the door.

I’m sure somebody’s already given this phenomenon a name of some kind. But because I’m not aware of it, allow me to call it the parent phenomenon.

Now, while parents often are victims of the parent phenomenon, grandparent usually are not.

Again, if you have kids, you know exactly what I’m talking about. How many times have you heard “My oh my how much little Johnny has grown!” and then you hear yourself saying “Really?”

Are you conscious of your Internet business’ growth or do you not realize how much progress you truly make from one month to the next? For example, if you have a list of 2 people one month, and the next month you have 4, you’ve grown your list by 200%.

What does your ideal Internet business look like?

And how will you know you’ve reached it?

I’m a parent and I have an Internet business.

As a dad, I like to think I’m actively involved in and aware of my child’s development.
