Internet Marketer Tellman Knudson recently promoted his Black Diamond line.
Those who read Tellman’s sales letter know it described how exclusive the program is, and the maze of qualifications to get a spot.
First prospects needed to register for a screening and training call to see if they were eligible for membership. It’s been said prospects get kicked off the call for not completing every question on the questionnaire as requested earlier and for not including their URL. Finally, prospects get booted off the list if they ignore the requirement to remain on the phone for the entire duration of the screening call.
It makes sense–It’s Tellman’s game and he gets to make the rules. But that’s not my point (although I may write about the psychology behind Tellman’s great marketing strategy at some other time)…
The point is, how many people didn’t make the cut because they didn’t follow instructions and blamed Tellman? Only Tellman and his team know the answer.
Or here’s another one: How many times have you read a self-help book where the author says something like “one way to figure out x is to make a list of 6 reasons why __”? Do you make those lists? If so, count yourself amongst the few.
If you ask me, most people just read right thru those little call to actions. No wonder they never get results from all the books they keep buying.
It’s the minority that stops, pulls out pen and paper, and follows the directions to do the recommended exercise (some people I know even go so far as to mind map the book). And it’s the minority that gets results.
Instructions usually exist for a reason.

I so agree with this. Following directions are beyond important. I know first hand when you do follow directions even if they dont make sense at first. It makes your life easier and you get the results quicker. I havent been getting the results I desire. I realized that I haven’t been following directions for the last 1 1/2 years. Following directions are critical. What if a heart surgeon doesnt follow directions? You will most likey be dead.
